At Castle Trematonia, the day begins on the lawn, greeting the sun and the glorious view of the Lynher River with morning yoga as birdsong rises from the valley.
Cold-water dips in the pool or tidal estuary are followed by the deep heat of the sauna, whilst paddleboarding on the water offers a more playful start. Wander the ancient woods for forest bathing, or pick fresh herbs from the garden to make tea.
Afternoons invite deep rest. Lie by the pool with a book from the library, explore local walks that pass through a neighbouring vineyard, or simply be still. This hidden corner of Cornwall is designed for a nervous-system reset.
As the day softens, there is space to gather and play – football on the lawn or the skate ramp for the fearless. At sunset, climb the Norman keep to watch the light fade across the landscape with a sundowner. Evenings end around the fire pit, stories shared beneath the stars, held by quiet, history and nature.
Perfectly positioned at the gateway to Cornwall, Castle Trematonia offers both seclusion and exceptional access to the wider county. The estate is just seven minutes from Saltash station, with a direct train to London in approximately 3.6 hours. From here, Cornwall’s coastline, countryside and cultural landmarks are all easily explored, whilst returning each day to the quiet and privacy of the estate.
There’s plenty to tempt you without ever getting in the car. Kayak or paddleboard along the River Lynher, wild swim in the tidal estuary beneath the castle, or simply set out on foot for woodland and riverside walks straight from the estate gates.
